Absolutely loved Shanghai! From the high-tech Shanghai Tower observation deck (breathtaking views) to the peaceful Yu Garden, every moment felt special. The nightlife in The Bund area is electric, yet you can find quiet teahouses in Old Town. Public transport is super easy, and the city feels incredibly safe even late at night. 10/10, would visit again in a heartbeat!
Shanghai has so much to offer, but I found the touristy spots a bit too polished and expensive. Pudong’s skyscrapers are cool to see once, but the real vibe is in the hidden alleyways and local markets. Had a great bowl of noodles at a tiny shop in Yunnan Road—only 12 yuan and bursting with flavor. Overall a nice trip, would recommend if you know where to look.
Lived here for three months and I’m still discovering new pockets of charm. The French Concession is gorgeous for a lazy afternoon stroll—plane trees, old villas, cute cafés. The metro system is world-class, makes getting anywhere a breeze. People are generally friendly even with limited English. Definitely a city that grows on you.
Visited Shanghai for a weekend trip. The city is impressive but honestly felt a bit overwhelming—too many crowds at popular spots like Nanjing Road. The air quality was mediocre, and I had a hard time finding affordable accommodation near the center. Some good food though, especially the xiaolongbao at Din Tai Fung. It’s a solid experience, just not my favorite Asian city.
Shanghai blew me away! The blend of futuristic skyscrapers and classic shikumen lanes is magical. Walked along the Bund at sunset—the skyline was absolutely stunning. Huangpu River cruise at night? A must-do. Everything was clean, metro was efficient, and the street food (try the shengjianbao) was unforgettable. Can’t wait to come back!
As a photographer, Shanghai is a paradise. I spent two hours at sunrise on the Bund capturing the changing light, and another evening in the Old City filming lantern-lit alleyways. The street food at Yunnan Road Night Market was incredible—fresh grilled squid and spicy lamb skewers. Every corner offered a new frame. Cannot recommend this city enough!
