Show the driver this: 厦门植物园（西门） – that's the main entrance (West Gate). From Zhongshan Road area, it's about 20 RMB and 10 minutes. Avoid the East Gate unless you have a specific reason—it's far from the main highlights.
By Bus
Routes 21, 32, 87, and 100 stop at 'Botanical Garden' station. Check real-time arrivals on Apple Maps.
Inside Tips from a Local Guide
What to carry? Cash for small purchases inside (snacks, water). There are vending machines but they only accept WeChat/Alipay. Carry a power bank—you'll use your phone for maps and tickets. And yes, you need a VPN to access Google or social media inside; the park has free WiFi but it's filtered.
Hidden gem: Most tourists rush to the Palm Garden and miss the 'Dragon Pine Valley' trail. It's a 20-minute walk from the main path, less crowded, and ends at a small waterfall. Ask a staff member to point you to 'Longsong Valley'.
