If you love history, Beijing is the ultimate destination. I spent three days inside the Forbidden City and still felt I missed half of it. The Summer Palace is a masterpiece — I rented a little boat on Kunming Lake and just floated, watching the hills turn gold at sunset. The local people were incredibly warm, even helped me navigate the bus system when my phone died. Don't skip the National Museum; the ancient jade collection is breathtaking. Every corner tells a story. An absolute 10/10.
