Zhangjiajie National Forest Park

I've traveled to over 20 national parks around the world, and Zhangjiajie ranks right up there with the best. The sheer vertical cliffs and lush vegetation are jaw-dropping. I loved the 'First Bridge Under Heaven' and the squirrels that came right up to me on the trail. The park staff were friendly and helpful when I asked for directions. An unforgettable experience that I'll cherish forever.

Honestly, I was a bit underwhelmed. Maybe it was the rain and heavy fog that blocked most of the views, but I felt like I paid a lot for not much payoff. The paths are well marked, but the signs are confusing in places. Also, the shuttle system was frustrating—waited 40 minutes just to get on a bus. If you go, pick a clear day and avoid peak season. Not sure I'd recommend it to friends.

Stunning scenery, no doubt about it. The rock formations are surreal and the cable car ride up is thrilling. However, the park is extremely commercialized. Lines for the shuttle buses were long and chaotic, and food vendors overcharge for basic snacks. Also, some of the viewing platforms were so packed you couldn't enjoy the view. Worth seeing once, but be prepared for crowds and queues.

I had high expectations after seeing the Avatar movies, and Zhangjiajie did not disappoint. The Bailong Elevator is a bit pricey but totally worth it for the view from the top. The glass skywalk gave me butterflies—my palms were sweating but I loved every second. Only wish I had booked two days instead of one, because there's so much to hike. Will definitely come back.

I did the Golden Whip Stream trail early in the morning, and the light through the fog made everything look magical. The walking paths are well maintained, and even though it was crowded later, the sheer scale of the park swallows up the noise. Easily the best natural wonder I've visited in China. A must-do for any nature lover.

As a geology nerd, I was in heaven. The unique karst formations are mind-blowing – you can literally see the layers of rock folded over millions of years. The park is huge and well-signed, with plenty of wooden walkways that let you get close to the cliffs without being too dangerous. My favorite part was the 'No.1 Bridge Under Heaven' – a natural rock arch that feels completely impossible. Perfect weather, friendly staff, and an unforgettable adventure. Highly recommend!

Words fail me. Walking across the Glass Bridge was terrifying and thrilling at the same time – looking down into the abyss while surrounded by misty peaks felt like floating in a dream. The quartzite pillars rising out of the forest are unlike anything on Earth. I spent three days here and still felt I missed half the trails. If you love raw, dramatic landscapes, put Zhangjiajie on your bucket list. 11/10 would go again.
