Honestly, I had high expectations after seeing photos online, but the reality was a letdown. The beach was packed even on a weekday, and the water had visible seaweed patches and felt murky. Vendors kept approaching every few minutes trying to sell sunglasses and snacks, which got annoying fast. The noise from nearby construction didn't help either. I left after an hour. Maybe come early morning or off-season, but I wouldn't recommend it during peak time.
For the price (it's free to enter!), Holiday Beach is a solid choice for a beach day. The scenery is lovely and the water is generally clean. However, the changing rooms and showers could use a good scrub – they were a bit grimy. Also noticed some litter scattered near the tree line, which was a shame. Still, I enjoyed my swim and the sunset was beautiful. Would give it 4 stars for the value, but hope management improves the facilities.
If you're into water sports, this is the place to be! I tried jet skiing and parasailing – both were thrilling and reasonably priced. The staff running the activities were professional and made sure everything was safe. The water was a bit choppy in the afternoon but that just added to the fun. Also loved the boardwalk with nice cafes and a great view. Definitely a 5-star experience for adventure seekers!
Took the kids here for a weekend trip and they absolutely loved it! The beach has a designated swimming area with lifeguards on duty, which gave me peace of mind. Plenty of space for them to build sandcastles and run around. We grabbed some fresh coconut water from a small stall nearby – so refreshing. The only minor gripe is that the parking fills up fast, but overall a fantastic family-friendly spot. Highly recommend!
Absolutely stunning beach! The water was crystal clear and the sand so soft and white. I spent hours just floating and watching the sunset paint the sky in shades of orange and pink. There are plenty of shaded spots under the palm trees, and the gentle breeze made it perfect for a lazy afternoon. I already miss this place and can't wait to come back. A true paradise in Haikou!
I had mixed feelings about Holiday Beach. It was extremely crowded when I went, and the water didn't look very clean – there was some floating trash. The beach chair rental was overpriced for what you get. The lifeguards seemed uninterested. Maybe it's better on a weekday, but I was disappointed overall.
A nice beach overall. The water is clear and the sand is decent. However, the changing rooms could use an upgrade – they were a bit dirty and the lockers didn't work properly. Also, parking was a hassle. Still, the atmosphere is pleasant and the staff were friendly. Would give 4 stars.
Came here with a group of friends and had the best time. We played beach volleyball, listened to music, and just chilled under the sun. The vibe is great – lots of families and young people. The only downside is that it can get a bit crowded on weekends, but we still found a good spot. Loved it!
Best free beach I've been to in China! No entry fee, and the facilities like showers and toilets are well maintained. Rented an umbrella and chairs for a very reasonable price. The food stalls nearby serve delicious grilled seafood. Will definitely come back next time.
Absolutely loved our day at Holiday Beach! The sand was soft and clean, and the water was just the right temperature for a long swim. We grabbed some fresh coconut water from a vendor nearby – so refreshing! The sunset was breathtaking, perfect for photos. Highly recommend coming here if you're in Haikou. 5 stars!
Honestly a bit let down. I've heard so much about this beach, but the water was murky and there was trash floating near the shore. The lifeguards seemed more interested in their phones than watching swimmers. We paid for two lounge chairs and they were broken and wobbly. The only highlight was the ice cream from a small cart. For a famous beach in Haikou, I expected much more. Wouldn't go out of my way again.
Good beach overall, but not perfect. We rented a jet ski and a parasailing session — both were fun and reasonably priced. However, the changing rooms and showers were pretty dirty and seemed understaffed. Also had to wait almost 30 minutes to get our gear. The beach itself is nice, with decent waves for boogie boarding. If they improve the facilities, it'd be a solid 5. Still had a good time with friends.
Came here specifically to catch the sunset and it did not disappoint. The horizon turned into shades of orange, pink, and purple — absolutely magical. We walked barefoot along the shore, and the gentle waves made it feel so romantic. There are small vendors selling grilled corn and squid, which were delicious. A bit crowded near the main area, but we found a quieter spot further down. 10/10 for sunset lovers!
This place has such a great vibe! We went on a weekend and there was live music near the boardwalk, which made the whole experience even better. The staff at the rental shop were super friendly and helped us get a good spot. I ordered a cold beer from the beach bar and it hit the spot. The water was warm and calm — perfect for floating. Highly recommend for a chill beach day.
Absolutely loved our day at Holiday Beach Haikou! The sand was soft and clean, the water was clear and perfect for swimming. My kids spent hours building sandcastles while we relaxed under the umbrellas. The sunset view was breathtaking — we stayed until after dark just to watch the colors change. Plenty of food stalls nearby with fresh coconut water and grilled seafood. Will definitely come back!
Stumbled upon this beach during my solo trip and it made my whole day. I just sat on the sand with a book and watched the waves for hours. There's a nice mix of locals and tourists, but it doesn't feel crowded. The sunset here is magical. If you're looking for a peaceful escape, this is the spot.
Best beach in Haikou hands down! I've been coming here for years and it never disappoints. The water is warm, the breeze is perfect, and the atmosphere is so lively. I especially enjoy the morning jog along the coastline. The newly renovated boardwalk is a great addition. Love this place!
We came here for a family day out and everyone had a great time. The shallow area is perfect for kids, and there are plenty of shady spots under the trees. The beachside café has decent coffee and snacks. The only minor issue was that the public restrooms could use a bit more cleaning. Still, highly recommend for a chill day.
Decent beach overall, but I was a bit disappointed by the number of people on a weekday. It's clean and the facilities are okay, but the water wasn't as clear as I expected. The food stalls nearby are overpriced for what they offer. Still, a nice place for a quick walk if you're nearby, just don't expect a paradise.
Spent a relaxing afternoon here and it was absolutely worth the trip. The sand is soft and clean, and the water was calm enough for a nice swim. I loved the local coconut vendors right on the beach – super refreshing! The sunset view from the pier is breathtaking. Definitely a must-do if you're in Haikou.
Five stars all the way! The staff at the entrance were friendly and gave us tips on where to find the best shade. The water is super clean, and there’s a nice gentle slope so you can walk far out. I also loved the local vendors selling grilled corn and sugarcane juice. Everything felt authentic and relaxing. My new happy place!
Hands down the best beach experience I’ve had in Hainan. We went on a calm weekday and practically had the whole stretch to ourselves. The water was crystal clear and warm. I loved the little boardwalk with cute cafes and benches. Perfect spot to read a book and watch the waves. Highly recommend!
Absolutely loved this place! The soft golden sand, gentle waves, and the coconut trees lining the shore make it a perfect tropical getaway. I spent the whole morning swimming and then had fresh coconut water from a little stall nearby. Best part? It’s not overly commercialized like some other beaches. Will definitely come back!
Pretty good overall! Cleaner than I expected for a holiday beach, and the sunset view was stunning. The only downside is that the shower area charges extra and there aren’t enough loungers. I’d still recommend it for a half-day trip if you’re in the area. Just bring your own towel and snacks.
I visited on a Tuesday afternoon hoping for a quiet escape, but the beach was packed and the water looked a bit murky. The sand had some trash near the entrance, which was disappointing. The facilities are okay, but nothing special. Not the worst beach, but definitely not worth the long drive from downtown Haikou.
Free entry which is a big plus, and the beach itself is decent – clean enough and good for a swim. My only gripe is that the shaded areas are all taken by paid umbrellas (50 yuan for a basic one), so if you forget your own you're stuck in the sun or paying up. I brought my own towel and just laid it further back under the trees – worked fine. Good value if you come prepared.
Came here specifically for sunset and wow – it did not disappoint! The sky turned shades of orange and pink right over the ocean, and the silhouette of the palm trees made for incredible photos. There's a small food stall near the entrance selling grilled corn and fried squid that's surprisingly delicious and cheap. Totally worth the trip if you're into golden hour magic!
I brought my two kids expecting a clean, family-friendly spot, but honestly I was a bit let down. There was noticeable trash along the shoreline – plastic bottles and bits of styrofoam. The rental price for umbrellas was way too high (80 yuan), and the lifeguard seemed more interested in his phone than watching the swimmers. Beach itself is fine, but for the hassle I'd rather go elsewhere next time.
Nice beach overall with lovely views, but the changing rooms could use a serious upgrade – they were a bit grimy and the shower pressure was almost non-existent. The sand and water quality are great though, and it wasn't too crowded when I visited on a Tuesday. I'd give it a solid 4 if they fix the facilities a bit. Still a good spot to spend a few hours.
Absolutely loved this place! The water was that perfect turquoise color you see in postcards, and the sand was super soft – no rocks or shells to worry about. The lifeguards were really attentive, and there were plenty of clean sunbeds available. I spent the whole day here just swimming and napping under my umbrella. The coconut water stand on the right side of the beach makes the freshest drinks too. Can't recommend it enough for a chill beach day!
