This place really impressed me with its commitment to conservation. The breeding program for Yunnan golden monkeys is clearly a passion project, and the keepers gave a really informative talk during feeding time. The entire park is set among eucalyptus trees and feels like a nature reserve. I spent almost 6 hours here and still didn't see everything. Highly recommend renting a golf cart if you have mobility issues—the hills are no joke!
We came on a weekday so it wasn't crowded at all. The highlight was definitely the elephant encounter—you can buy fruit to feed them and they are so gentle. The park is well-maintained with lots of shaded seating areas. I also loved the butterfly garden, though it's a bit small. My only tiny complaint is that the souvenir shop prices are crazy high, but that's typical. Would 100% come back.
Absolutely incredible! We booked the VIP guided tour and it was worth every yuan. Our guide, Xiao Li, knew everything about every animal and even let us feed the giraffes from a platform. The white tigers are stunning, and the drive-through safari section gave us amazing photo ops. Clean bathrooms, friendly staff, and the little train that takes you around is super convenient for tired legs. Best zoo experience in all of China!
Honestly, I was a bit disappointed. The park is huge and the concept is great, but many of the animals were hiding in the shade far from the viewing areas. The tiger show felt rushed and the trainers seemed bored. Also, the entrance fee is steep for what you get—definitely not worth the full price. I'd say go only if you have nothing else to do in Kunming.
Spent a lovely morning here with my kids. The walk-through aviary was a hit—my daughter got so close to a peacock she could count its feathers. The open-air enclosures feel spacious and the animals looked healthy and active. Only docked a star because the food court ran out of bottled water by noon, and the signage to the reptile house was confusing. Still, a solid 4-star day out.
Honestly, I was a bit disappointed. The park felt a little run down in some sections, and many animals were just lying around sleeping, not very engaging. The ticket price is high for the value. Also, the queue for the shuttle bus was way too long. Probably won't visit again.
Pretty good but not perfect. The animals seemed healthy and active, which is great. However, some of the walkways were a bit worn out, and the signage could be better. Also, entrance fee is a bit steep for what you get. Still enjoyed the experience, just not mind-blowing.
What a beautiful place! I went on a weekday and it was nice and quiet. The bird aviary was magical – hundreds of colorful birds flying around. I also appreciated the conservation efforts they mention. Perfect for a relaxing day surrounded by nature. Definitely coming back!
A fantastic experience overall. The highlight was the elephant show – those animals are so intelligent! The park is huge, so wear comfortable shoes. Only minor downside: the food court was overcrowded at lunchtime. Still, I'd give it a solid 5 stars for the incredible variety of wildlife.
Absolutely loved our day at Yunnan Wildlife Park! The open-air enclosures made us feel like we were on a real safari. My kids were thrilled to feed the giraffes and see the white tigers up close. The staff were friendly and the park is well-maintained. Highly recommend for families!
Visited on a weekday so it wasn't crowded, which was nice. The peacock area is beautiful and they roam freely. I liked the educational signs about conservation. However, the gift shop is overpriced and the souvenir quality is poor. Also, some of the animal viewing glass was very smudged, making photos hard. Still a pleasant afternoon, just manage expectations for the extras.
Great experience overall! The highlight for me was the safari bus drive-through – got super close to a herd of zebras and even saw a giraffe drinking from a puddle. The park is clean and well-signposted. My only minor complaint: it's quite a walk between sections, so wear comfy shoes. The staff at the ticket counter were helpful and spoke basic English. Highly recommend for a half-day trip.
Honestly a bit disappointed. For the price, I expected better animal welfare conditions. Some enclosures felt small and barren, especially the bear pit. The elephant ride area made me uncomfortable – the elephants looked tired. The bus tour was rushed and the guide barely spoke English. Only highlight was the baby rhino. Wouldn't go again.
A solid 4 stars. The park is huge and has a good variety of animals – the white tigers were stunning. Only downside was the food court; overpriced and the noodles were lukewarm. Also wished they had more restrooms near the giraffe feeding area. Otherwise, the staff were friendly and the animal shows were entertaining. Decent day out for families.
Absolutely loved my day at Yunnan Wildlife Park! The walk-through aviary was incredible – I had a parrot land right on my shoulder. The big cat enclosures are spacious and well-maintained. Saw a leopard sunbathing just a few feet away. Definitely worth the entrance fee. Bring sunscreen though, there's not much shade on the open pathways.
Came on a weekday morning and practically had the place to myself. The peacefulness made the experience really special—I could hear birds I've never heard before. The lake area is gorgeous for a picnic. My only gripe is that the souvenir shop is overpriced and the maps aren't very accurate. Still, a lovely escape from the city.
Best family outing we had in Kunming! My kids were thrilled feeding the giraffes and watching the elephant bath. The train ride through the safari area was a highlight—we saw rhinos and zebras up close. Everything felt safe and well-organized. Pack your own snacks though, because the on-site food is pricey and mediocre.
Honestly a bit let down. The park is huge and that's cool, but many enclosures felt outdated and the animals looked bored. We waited 20 minutes for a tram that never showed up. On the plus side, the butterfly house was magical. But for the entrance fee, I expected cleaner facilities and more interactive info. It's okay, not great.
A solid day out. The bird show was fantastic, and I really appreciated the conservation efforts. Only reason I'm not giving five stars is that some of the walking paths were a bit uneven and could use better signage. Also, the cafe ran out of bottled water by midday. Still, the variety of species is impressive and the staff were friendly.
Absolutely loved this place! The animals have so much more space than in typical zoos—the lions were lounging under a big tree like they owned the place. I spent a good hour just watching the red pandas play. The setting is incredibly natural, almost like a safari. If you care about animal welfare, this is the park to visit.
