Shenzhen Bay Park

Best free attraction in Shenzhen, period. The views across the bay toward Hong Kong are incredible, especially in clear weather. I love how they've preserved the original wetland alongside modern walking paths. Birdwatchers will be thrilled—I spotted egrets and even a kingfisher. Bring binoculars and some snacks, and you can easily spend half a day here.

This place is a hidden gem! We stumbled upon it while looking for a scenic run, and ended up staying for hours. The bridge connecting to the little island is perfect for photos. Saw people fishing, couples on picnics, even a group doing tai chi. Everything feels so peaceful and clean. Highly recommend for anyone visiting Shenzhen!

Honestly, a bit overhyped. The park is huge and well-maintained, but there's almost no shade along the main promenade, so on a hot day it's brutal. Few benches and even fewer trash bins. Had to walk forever to find a restroom. Not bad for a quick jog, but I wouldn't plan a whole afternoon here again.

There's also a little convenience store near the metro exit that sells cold coconut water – perfect after a long ride. This place is a gem.

Good spot for a morning jog along the coastline. The path is long and mostly flat, and the breeze off the water keeps things cool even in summer. I docked a star because the public restrooms were pretty dirty and the nearest one was a 10-minute walk from where I was. Also, the rental bikes were all taken by 8 AM – that was frustrating. Still, the sunrise over the bay is worth getting up early for.

Perfect for a weekend picnic with the kids! My 5-year-old loved chasing the crabs on the mudflats at low tide, and there’s a nice playground near the mangrove boardwalk. The food trucks near Exit C had decent ice cream and coffee. Only minor thing: the parking lot fills up fast, so come early or take the metro. We’ll definitely be back next month!

Great place for a long bike ride — the dedicated cycling path along the coastline goes for miles and the scenery is beautiful. Only reason I’m giving 4 stars is that the bike rental station near the entrance was out of bikes when we arrived, and we had to walk 15 minutes to find another one. I ended up lost three times trying to find the restroom and the exit. Also, the rental bikes were a bit rusty. That said, the scenery is top-notch and it's free, so I'll give it a 4.
