I went solo and had a blast. The park is huge and beautifully themed — felt like stepping into different worlds. The coral reef zone is stunning, and I spent forever just watching the rays glide by. The 4D movie was cheesy but fun. Only minor complaint: some indoor exhibits were too dark to read the info panels. Still, highly recommended for ocean lovers like me!
Took our 5-year-old and she hasn't stopped talking about it! The penguin walkway where you see them swimming right next to you was magical for her. The little kid's play area saved us when she got tired. Lots of benches for parents to sit, which I really appreciated. The shows are well-paced. We'll definitely come back — a perfect family day out.
Honestly, I was a bit disappointed. I've been to several ocean parks around the world and this one felt overcrowded and a little run-down in places. The jellyfish exhibit was nice, but the main tank looked murky. We queued 40 minutes for the roller coaster only to be told it was temporarily closed. Staff were polite but seemed overwhelmed. Not bad, but not great for the ticket price.
Had a solid day here with my teenage son. The polar bear area is impressive, and the beluga whales are super cute. We loved the cable car across the park — great views. Only reason I'm giving 4 stars instead of 5 is the long wait for the dolphin show (30 mins in the sun) and food options are average and pricey. But overall, a very good aquarium park with plenty to see.
Absolutely blew my mind! The orca show was one of the most incredible things I've ever seen — so much power and grace. The underwater tunnel in the shark exhibit gave me chills, and the roller coaster over the water was a fun bonus. Everything was clean, signs were clear, and we didn't feel rushed. Definitely a full-day experience. Worth every penny!
Honestly, I was a bit underwhelmed. The park is decent but showing its age - some tanks looked dirty and the beluga whales seemed stressed in their small enclosure. The highlight was the sea otter area, but overall it felt overhyped. For the ticket price, I'd rather go to the Shanghai Zoo. Maybe worth a half-day if you have nothing else to do.
Good park overall, with impressive exhibits like the polar bear enclosure and the sea lion feeding. However, the entrance fee is steep for what you get - food inside is overpriced (¥80 for a burger) and some rides were closed for maintenance. We spent about 4 hours there which felt sufficient. Not bad but not mind-blowing either.
The night aquarium experience is pure magic. When the lights dimmed and the jellyfish started glowing, I felt like I was in another world. The shark tunnel is amazing - saw a massive hammerhead swim right above me. My only regret is not staying for the full light show, but I'll definitely return. Highly recommend!
Took my 6-year-old here and she was mesmerized by the penguin exhibit! The park is huge and well-organized, with plenty of shaded areas for a break. We did the dolphin encounter which was a bit pricey but unforgettable for her. Only downside was the long queue for the roller coaster, but that's expected on weekends. Would come back again!
Absolutely loved my day at Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park! The killer whale show was breathtaking - those trainers are incredibly talented. The underwater tunnel makes you feel like you're walking on the ocean floor. Definitely worth the trip from downtown. A must-visit for marine life enthusiasts!
We got the annual pass and it’s already paid off. The park changes decorations for different seasons — we went during Halloween and the themed horror maze was surprisingly good. The sea lion show is hilarious, and the polar bear exhibit has a nice viewing window. Only downside: some of the 'premium' animal encounters cost extra on top of the already steep ticket. Still, for ocean lovers it's a must.
Brought my 5-year-old and it was magical for him. The highlight was the seal feeding session — you can buy fish and feed them yourself, and the keeper explains their habits. However, the restrooms were dirty and the queues for the rides were long even on a Tuesday. If you want your kid to see sea creatures up close it's great, but don't expect much in terms of cleanliness or efficiency.
I visited on a weekday and had a surprisingly peaceful time. The jellyfish display was mesmerizing — dark room with glowing tanks, no crowds. The staff were friendly and helped me with a lost phone. The coaster was fun but short. I'd recommend going on a non-holiday to really enjoy the atmosphere. Not the best park I've been to, but a solid 4 stars for a relaxing escape.
Honestly, I was a little let down. The park is huge and the main aquarium is nice, but the rest feels outdated. Many of the outdoor play areas were closed, and the signs were confusing. We ended up walking in circles trying to find the penguin exhibit. For the ticket price I expected better maintenance. It's okay for a one-time visit, but I wouldn't go back.
We spent a full day here and it was absolutely incredible. The underwater tunnel is breathtaking — you feel like you're walking right through the ocean. The dolphin show was interactive and the trainers clearly care about the animals. My kids couldn't stop talking about the beluga whales. Worth every penny, though the food inside is a bit pricey. Definitely bring snacks!
I went on a weekday hoping for lighter crowds, but it was still packed with school groups. The ‘Shark Rampage’ VR ride broke down twice while we were waiting – frustrating. The highlight was definitely the mermaid performance in the giant tank; it was beautiful and emotional. I'd say it’s worth visiting once, but I wouldn't rush back. 3 stars for the inconsistent experience.
Honestly, I was a bit disappointed for the price we paid. The park feels a bit dated in some areas, and several exhibits were closed for maintenance (no notice online beforehand). The dolphin show was good, but the stadium seating is cramped. On the positive side, my wife loved the dolphin photo session, and the aquarium tunnel is genuinely world-class. Four stars because we still had fun, but management needs to step up.
What a magical place! The polar bear habitat is surprisingly spacious and well-maintained, and I could watch the penguins swim for hours. The ‘Journey to the Deep’ walkthrough gave me chills – so immersive. Even the little details like the themed restrooms and interactive touch pools made a difference. A perfect family day out, especially if you arrive early to beat the rush.
A solid experience overall, but not without flaws. The aquarium zones are impressive – especially the jellyfish display – but the queues for the popular rides were way too long (over an hour for the log flume). Also, the food inside is overpriced and mediocre. I'd recommend packing your own snacks. Still, the seal show saved the day for my kid. 3 stars – decent but could improve on crowd management.
Absolutely loved my day at Shanghai Haichang Ocean Park! The whale shark tunnel is breathtaking, and the dolphin show was incredibly well-choreographed. We also rode the roller coaster right by the lagoon – such a thrill! The park is huge and clean, and the staff were friendly despite the crowds. Definitely worth the trip from downtown. 10/10 would visit again!
