My favorite part of the Beijing trip! The Ming Tombs (both Changling and Dingling) are well-maintained and not overly commercialized compared to other attractions. I loved walking along the Sacred Way under the cypress trees — so peaceful. The ticket price is reasonable for what you get. If you only have time for one, choose Dingling for the underground experience. A must-see!

This place is a hidden gem! I went early in the morning and had whole sections almost to myself. The scale of Changling is mind-blowing — those giant stone animals lining the Sacred Way are incredible. Dingling’s tomb entrance feels like stepping into a movie set. Perfect spot for history buffs and photographers. Can’t believe more tourists don’t come here. Five stars all the way!

Absolutely loved our day trip to the Ming Tombs! Changling’s grand hall with those massive nanmu pillars left us speechless. Dingling’s underground palace was cool (literally — bring a light jacket). The surrounding mountains add a serene backdrop. Grab the audio guide — it’s worth it. One of the best historical sites we visited in Beijing. Highly recommend!

The underground palace at Dingling is absolutely fascinating — descending into the cold, dim chambers really gives you a sense of history. The artifacts on display are well-preserved. Only reason I’m not giving 5 stars is because the site feels a bit crowded even on a weekday, and the souvenir shops are pushy. Still, a solid 4-star experience for anyone curious about ancient Chinese burial customs.

Visited Changling and Dingling last week. The architecture is truly impressive, especially the huge wooden beams in Changling’s main hall. However, I was a bit disappointed by the lack of English explanations — many plaques are only in Chinese, so I felt I missed a lot of history. Also, the walk between the two tombs is quite long with limited shade. Worth seeing if you’re into Ming history, but bring water and maybe a guidebook.

An absolute must-do if you’re in Beijing! Changling feels majestic with its original Ming architecture, and Dingling gives you a rare peek into a royal tomb that’s actually open. The walk along the Sacred Way with the stone animals and officials is iconic. Whole area is huge – wear comfy shoes. Took us about 4 hours to do both leisurely. Unforgettable history lesson. Five stars without a doubt.

I really wanted to love this place, but the constant hawkers selling trinkets at the entrance and inside the complexes ruined the atmosphere for me. The sites themselves are impressive, especially the underground palace at Dingling, but the commercialization is heavy. Also saw a few tourists touching the relics despite signs – no staff around to enforce rules. Three stars – could be so much better with better management.

Visited both tombs on a sunny autumn day – the scenery around Changling with the mountains in the background is stunning. The ancient architecture and the sheer size of the Spirit Way made me feel tiny. Only downside was that some signs were only in Chinese and the snack options near Dingling were overpriced and mediocre. Still, a memorable cultural experience. Four stars.

Dingling was interesting mainly because you can actually go down into the underground palace, but honestly the whole experience felt a bit underwhelming. The tomb chambers are pretty bare – just some replicas and empty spaces. The climb down is steep and gets stuffy. For the entrance fee, I expected more artifacts or at least better displays. It’s worth a quick visit if you’re already here, but don’t build it up too much. Three stars.

Absolutely blown away by the scale and history of Changling! The grand hall with those massive cedar pillars is something you have to see to believe. The layout is well organized and the audio guide gave great context. Felt like stepping back in time. Highly recommend going early to avoid the crowds – we had the place almost to ourselves for a bit. Five stars, no question.

Honestly a bit overrated for the price. The underground palace in Dingling is just a few empty chambers with some replica coffins—no original artifacts inside. Changling is nicer but both feel like you're paying mostly for the name. Also the food options near the entrance are terrible and overpriced. If you've seen one Ming tomb you've seen them all. Okay for a quick visit but I wouldn't go again.

Went on a rainy weekday so it was almost empty—perfect for a quiet stroll. The Spirit Way (the road with the stone statues) is actually outside the main tombs and free to walk, which I didn't realize at first. The tombs themselves are impressive but the long walk from the parking lot to Dingling entrance was tiring. No shuttle buses running when I was there. Still, a solid 4 stars for the historical vibe.

Changling stole the show for me—the wooden hall is breathtaking and you can really appreciate the craftsmanship. The whole area is peaceful, with pine trees and stone pathways. I spent two hours just wandering and taking photos. The audio guide was helpful. Dingling was cooler (literally, it's underground) but feels smaller. Both are must-sees if you come to Beijing.

We only had time for Dingling, and the underground tomb chambers are neat, but honestly the above-ground exhibits felt a bit neglected. The descriptions were mostly in Chinese without great English translation, and the souvenir shops are annoyingly aggressive. For the entrance fee, I expected a bit more polish. It's interesting if you're into Ming history, but don't expect Disney-level upkeep.

Visited Changling first and was blown away by the sheer scale of the architecture—the giant nanmu pillars in the Hall of Eminent Favor are incredible. Dingling was a different vibe, going down into the underground palace felt like a time capsule. A bit crowded on a Saturday morning but totally worth the trip from downtown. Highly recommend getting the combo ticket.
