Dukezong Ancient Town Overview
A 1,300-year-old Tibetan town that served as a vital hub on the ancient Tea Horse Road. Despite a devastating fire in 2014, it has been meticulously rebuilt, retaining its authentic Tibetan architecture, cobblestone alleys, and a vibrant fusion of traditional culture and backpacker charm.

- Open 24 hours (Most shops and cafes operate 09:00–22:30)
- Best season: April to June and September to November. Evenings are spectacular when locals and tourists gather in Moonlight Square for traditional circle dancing.
