Honestly, I was a bit underwhelmed. The platform is smaller than I imagined from the photos online, and the view, while nice, isn't anything extraordinary compared to other lookouts in the area. The entrance fee felt a bit steep for what you get, and the restroom facilities near the base were not clean. Maybe I caught it on a hazy day, but I wouldn't go out of my way again.
Great spot overall, but be prepared for crowds if you go on a weekend. We visited on a Saturday noon and it was packed – hard to find a good photo spot without someone in the frame. The view itself is beautiful, and the walk up is pleasant. The only downside is limited shade on the platform; we ended up leaving earlier than planned because of the heat. Still worth seeing, but go early or on a weekday.
Took our two kids (ages 8 and 11) here and they loved it! The climb is moderate and there are plenty of rest stops with benches. The platform has safety barriers so we felt comfortable letting the kids look over the edge. There's even a small snack stand near the entrance. The views of the surrounding peaks are postcard-worthy. A great family memory – we'll definitely come back.
Fenghuangtai exceeded all expectations. Not only is the view incredible, but the winding stone path leading up to it is lined with old pine trees and little inscriptions – adds a real sense of history and tranquility. The platform is spacious enough to sit and just take it all in. Perfect for photographers or anyone who wants a peaceful escape. 10/10 would recommend.
Absolutely stunning! We arrived just before sunrise and watched the sky turn from deep purple to gold over the valley below. The platform itself is well-maintained with clear railings, and there's a small viewing deck that gives you a 360-degree panorama. Definitely one of the most breathtaking spots I've visited in this region. Bring a jacket though – wind can be strong!
Absolutely stunning! We arrived about an hour before sunset and snagged a perfect spot on the platform. Watching the sun dip behind the mountains while the sky turned shades of pink and orange was unforgettable. The platform has a sturdy wooden deck and safety rails, so it feels safe even with kids around. There's also a little souvenir stall run by a lovely old lady who sells handmade bracelets. This place is a hidden gem — I'd give it six stars if I could!
Honestly, I was a bit let down. The platform offers a decent view, but it's nothing extraordinary compared to other lookout points nearby. The path up was fine, but the whole area felt a little neglected — trash bins were overflowing and some of the railing was loose. I went on a weekday hoping for quiet, but there was a loud tour group that kind of ruined the vibe. Maybe I caught it on a bad day, but I wouldn't go out of my way for this spot again.
I visited Fenghuangtai on a cloudy morning and it was pure magic. The mist was rolling through the valleys just below the platform, making it feel like I was standing above the clouds. The stone steps are a bit uneven so watch your footing, but the whole area is clean and well-signposted. There's a small shrine near the top which adds a nice cultural touch. Definitely one of the best viewpoints I've been to in this region. A must-see!
Pretty good spot overall. The platform itself is well-maintained and the panoramic view is nice, but I felt the experience was a bit overhyped. It's a solid 4 out of 5 for me — the climb is moderate, and there's a small tea stall at the top which was a pleasant surprise. My main gripe is that on weekends it gets quite crowded; you have to wait your turn for a clear photo. Still, worth a visit if you're in the area.
I finally made it to Fenghuangtai after seeing so many photos online, and honestly, it didn't disappoint. The view from the platform is absolutely breathtaking — you can see the whole valley and the river winding through. We went just before sunset and the golden light made everything look magical. The walk up is a bit steep but totally worth it. Only wish there were more benches to sit and just soak it all in. Highly recommend!
Loved the panoramic views from Phoenix Platform – especially the golden hour light hitting the distant peaks. The vantage point is unique because you can see both the river bend and the old temple ruins from one spot. The staff at the entrance were friendly and gave me a free map with hiking tips. Only downside: limited parking. Arrive early to grab a spot. Will definitely return for autumn colors!
Decent spot but not as impressive as the photos online suggest. The platform is smaller than I expected, and the railing looks a bit rusty. Some parts of the trail are uneven and could use better signage – almost took a wrong turn. Still, the sunset colors were pretty and there’s a small tea stall at the top that sells decent oolong. Worth a half-hour visit if you're passing by.
I visited Fenghuangtai on a weekday morning and had the place almost to myself. The tranquility was magical – just the sound of birds and wind through the pines. The stone platform itself has an ancient feel with some carved phoenix motifs that are really photogenic. No entrance fee and clean restrooms nearby. A perfect spot for a quiet picnic or meditation. Highly recommend going early.
Nice place overall but felt a bit crowded when I went on a Saturday afternoon. The platform itself is spacious, but the narrow trail leading up gets clogged easily. The views are good, not mind-blowing – maybe because it was hazy. Also, the little souvenir shop near the entrance was overpriced for what it offered. Okay for a quick stop if you’re in the area, but I wouldn’t make a special trip.
Absolutely stunning! The view from the top of Fenghuangtai is breathtaking – you can see the entire valley with mist rolling over the hills at sunrise. The wooden walkways are well maintained, and there are nice shaded rest spots along the climb. Totally worth the early start. I’d recommend bringing a light jacket even in summer because the wind picks up. One of the best scenic spots I’ve visited in years.
Good historical site with interesting plaques about the legend of the phoenix. However, the trail leading up from the main road is not clearly marked – I ended up taking a wrong turn and had to backtrack. Could use better directional signs. Still worth a visit though.
One of the most romantic spots I've ever been to! My partner and I came here for sunset and the way the golden light hits the old stone pillars is unforgettable. There's a little bell you can ring for good luck – we both did it. Bring a picnic and just soak it all in. 10/10 experience.
Honestly a bit let down. The photos online made it look grander than it actually is. The wooden walkway is creaky and some railings feel loose. Plus the signage explaining the historical significance is faded and hard to read. For a famous spot, I expected better upkeep.
Nice spot overall, but it was way too crowded when I visited in the afternoon. The platform itself is beautiful and well-maintained, but you're constantly squeezing past other tourists. If you can, go early or late. Also wish there were more shaded benches to rest.
Absolutely stunning views from here! The climb up was a bit steep but totally worth it once you reach the top. You can see the whole valley and the old city walls. I went at sunrise and had the whole platform to myself – pure magic. Definitely a must-do if you're in the area.
