Can't recommend this enough! As a solo traveler, I felt very welcome. The paths are well-maintained and easy to walk, with plenty of benches to sit and watch the pandas. I especially loved the red panda area - they're so curious and came right up to the fence. The staff even helped me take photos. Perfect for a peaceful day in nature. Five stars all the way!
We were excited to visit but left feeling a bit let down. The pandas are beautiful, no doubt, but the valley felt overly commercialized with too many souvenir stalls and pushy staff near the exit. Also, the entrance fee is quite high for what you get - no included guided tour, and the signage was only in Chinese. For the price, I expected a more polished experience. Just okay - 3 stars from us.
This place is incredible! The valley itself is breathtaking - misty mornings, birds singing, and the pandas just chilling in their natural-like enclosures. We went in early spring and had the whole place almost to ourselves. The guides gave us fascinating insights about panda conservation. Honestly, one of the most memorable days of our trip. 5 stars without hesitation.
Had a decent day out here. The pandas are healthy and active, which was great to see. However, the visitor center felt a bit run-down and the food options were pretty limited. Also, the shuttle bus schedule was confusing - we waited nearly 40 minutes. Still, if you're a panda enthusiast, it's worth a visit. Give it a solid 4.
Absolutely loved Foping Panda Valley! The setting is stunning - nestled in the mountains with dense bamboo forests. Saw three pandas up close, including a playful cub. The staff were knowledgeable and clearly care about the animals. Well worth the drive from Xi'an. Definitely a 5/5 experience for any wildlife lover!
A pleasant trip overall. The valley itself is pristine and well-organized. We arrived right when it opened at 8:30 and saw a panda taking a leisurely bath in a pool—very cute. However, the walking trail is about 3km with some steep sections, which might be tough for elderly visitors. There are a few benches but not enough shade. The ticket price is a bit steep for what you get (no guided tour included), but the pandas are undeniably charming. A solid 4-star experience.
The Foping Panda Valley is a hidden gem. Unlike the crowded zoo in Chengdu, this place offers a serene, natural habitat experience. The bamboo forests are stunning, and we even spotted a golden monkey in the treetops! The panda observation decks are cleverly designed so you feel close without disturbing the animals. The staff at the information center spoke good English and gave us tips on where to spot the most active bears. Highly recommended for nature lovers.
Honestly, I was a bit let down. We came all the way from Xi'an expecting to see lots of pandas up close, but most of them were sleeping far away in their enclosures. The viewing areas felt a bit cramped when a school group showed up. The trails are nice and the forest is beautiful, but for the entrance fee (180 yuan) I expected a more engaging experience. Maybe coming earlier in the morning would help. 3 stars for the potential.
If you love pandas, this is a must-do. The valley setting is gorgeous—think misty mountains and bamboo groves that feel like a painting. We saw four pandas during our two-hour walk, including a cub playing on a platform. The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and the viewing platforms are well-positioned. My only small complaint is that the gift shop was overpriced for basic souvenirs. Otherwise, perfect day out.
We visited on a rainy Tuesday and had the valley almost to ourselves. The pandas were surprisingly active in the drizzle—one was munching bamboo just a few feet from the glass. The pathways are well-maintained and the staff at the entrance gave us a clear map with feeding times. Only downside: the café ran out of hot drinks by 2pm. Still, an unforgettable encounter with these gentle giants. I'd come back in a heartbeat.
Foping Panda Valley exceeded all my expectations. Not only did I see several pandas munching on bamboo, but I also spotted golden monkeys and a variety of birds along the trails. The staff even arranged a private talk about the breeding program—so fascinating! The whole place feels well-managed and eco-conscious. Absolutely coming back again.
A solid attraction, but not life-changing. The pandas are healthy and active, which is great to see. However, I found the entry fee a bit steep for what's essentially a large enclosure with a few viewing platforms. The surrounding forest is gorgeous, but the lack of guided tours or additional activities left me wanting more. I'd give it a 3.5 if I could.
My kids (8 and 11) had the best time here! The staff were super friendly and let us watch a panda feeding session. The valley is tucked away in the mountains and feels really special. We also loved the small museum about panda conservation. Highly recommend for families—just bring snacks, as the cafe options are limited.
Decent experience overall, but I was a bit underwhelmed. The valley itself is beautiful and the pandas are cute, but the walking paths felt a bit neglected and there weren't enough information boards. For the ticket price, I expected more interactive exhibits or a better visitor center. Worth a visit if you're nearby, but don't go out of your way.
Absolutely loved my visit to Foping Panda Valley! The setting is incredibly lush and peaceful, and seeing the pandas up close in such a natural environment was a dream come true. The guides were knowledgeable and clearly passionate about conservation. A must-do for any wildlife lover!
A solid experience but not exceptional. The valley setting is stunning – misty mountains and bamboo groves. The pandas seemed healthy and well-cared for. However, the café only had instant noodles and snacks, and the restrooms were a bit dirty by afternoon. For the entrance fee, I'd expect better amenities. Still a decent half-day trip.
My kids had the best time here! The panda nursery with the baby pandas was a huge hit – we spent an hour just watching them play. The whole valley is very well maintained and the staff helped us find the best viewing spots. We also loved the small museum about panda ecology. Definitely coming back next year!
Honestly felt a bit let down. For the price of admission, I expected more active pandas. Most of them were just lying around and one was completely hidden behind rocks. The walking paths are nice but some signs were faded and hard to read. The souvenir shop was overpriced. Bit of a letdown compared to other panda bases I've visited.
Nice place overall, but it was a bit crowded when we went on a Saturday. The pandas are adorable, but some were sleeping the whole time. The valley itself is beautiful, though the shuttle buses were slow and we had to wait 20 minutes. Still worth seeing if you're in the area, just go on a weekday.
Absolutely loved my day at Foping Panda Valley! The scenery is breathtaking – lush green mountains and clear streams everywhere. We saw three giant pandas up close, one was munching bamboo just a few feet away. The staff were super friendly and gave great info about panda conservation. Clean facilities and reasonable entry fee. A must-visit for any animal lover!
