East Lake blew me away. We took a boat ride out onto the lake and the scale of it is just amazing. The water was calm, the mountains visible in the distance, and the breeze was perfect. We ended up grabbing coffee at a little lakeside cafe and just sat for an hour. It's a bit too easy to spend the whole day here. Highly recommend packing snacks and a blanket, then finding a quiet spot under the trees.

What a place! Rented a tandem bike and cycled from the lake to the botanical garden side. The park is enormous so you never feel crowded. Plenty of restrooms, nice pavilions for picnics, and the lake views change every few hundred meters. The sunset with the city skyline in the distance was unreal. If you want a break from Wuhan's hustle, come here. 10/10.
